I think in sum we as humans are more alike than different. We can be 95% alike, yet we focus on that 5% difference until we believe ourselves (or more often "them") to be alien. Simply 'tisn't so.

Well done, MightyBob.

We all want peace, yet, here we are fighting one another

I've always liked to see how "completely different" groups have come to the same conclusion.
one thought that came to mind was this: sometimes what you want done to yourself isn't what your neighbor wants done. That is when it is important to first find what they would like best, or would serve them best, from that act. Each person is different and needs to be treated differently, just pleasantly.

Isn't that a paradox? What I would want done for me may not be specifically what my neighbor's wanting, but we both want our individual needs taken into consideration. I guess the golden rule is best applied at some levels and not others.

I like the way my dad always puts it: "They say you should love your neighbor as your self, but personally, I don't know anyone who can HANDLE that much love!"

I love your dad, he sounds awesome!! and ya know if we all loved each other that much we'd have a lot less troubles, or maybe there would just be different problems. personally i'd like a different set of problems.
