Best Valentine Ever!

Today has quite possibly been the best Valentines Day ever. Flowers, chocolates, cards, poetry, serenades, and a beautiful man...

The beautiful man was, of course, my boyfriend. He went under the alias of Charles Mason (not to be confused with Charles Manson...) tonight. Such a versatile fellow. But the great day started when I woke up to a long-stemmed rose from one roommate and hand-written poetry from another (something along the lines of:

All I want to say, Bob
Is I think you're pretty hot
You help to keep me sane, Bob
Unbelievable that is not!
Hard to believe she's not even an English major...

Then that night a group of female friends from church got together for pizza, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and chick flix. The final vote came down to "Steel Magnolias" vs "Wedding Present" (with Cary Grant). The latter won out. After the movie a couple of guy friends from the neighborhood stopped by to recite a poem and sing Billy Joel's "She's Got a Way" (sweet guys - they sang to all the girls' apartments in the area). It was actually the most depressing point in the day. Not that they sang poorly. O, contraire. It's just that I knew they weren't singing it for me, or rather, that they didn't mean the words for me. *sigh* maybe I'll have my very own Billy Joel someday... Then after they left we closed the party with a few songs of our own, with impromptu lyrics that had us all rolling on the floor. It's amazing how entertaining three guitar chords can be with a little wit...

I hope your V-day was fantastic, too...

Once you've been married for awhile V-day gets fun. No flowers or any of that mushy stuff. The ward is having a Cake and Karaoke party and I told Nathan that for my V-day gift I want him to make a fool of himself (if thats not love, I don't know what is).

We're singing My Little Buttercup and doing the Three Amigos dance infront of the whole ward. I'm *hoping* to be able to put the video of it on my blog. Stay tuned! :D
