Went to SoCal this past week to spend some time with Zach before I head to Guatemala. For most of the week, it was actually hotter in Utah than in Cali! Unfortunately, that meant the beach was cold, too, but... eh, what can ya do?
I didn't take many pictures (partly because Z hates being in them, partly because I spent a good chunk of the day working on my research proposal for Guate, and geesh, how boring is that?), but here are a few highlights:

Two good friends picked me up at the airport on the way back, and we headed to the store for some grub. I made a decision a few years ago to put relationships ahead of darn near all else.

That choice has made my life sweeter than I knew possible.

Aww... Sometimes I really hate living so far away from my girls. Thanks for posting the pics. One of these days I'll post a few of my own (dang Internet!). Love you!

ps - yeah, long hair is the norm for women in guatemala. i know i won't exactly blend in anyway, but i don't want to be toooo much of a social deviant... plus, it'd been short for a while. time to try something different. the tentative goal is to grow it to my waist again. odds are, i'll get antsy and chop it before then, but heck - i can dream, can't i?...
