contact solution...

Clear Care is an innovative contact solution that, through the miracle of chemical reactions, turns from a combo of sodium chloride and hydrogen peroxide to a gentle saline solution, thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting contacts in the 6-hour process. An essential part of the chemical reaction is a metal that is attached to the sleekly designed special contact case. Clear Care looks just like any regular contact solution coming out of the bottle. So much like a regular solution, in fact, that I totally got it mixed up with my regular contact solution yesterday and put it in my regular contact case, causing a rather irregular sensation when I tried to put in my right contact... ouch...

Does it cause damage to the eye? That was quite an advertisement for the solution. Since it hurts to use it, are you going to try it again?

After putting tons of hydrogen peroxide on a burn on my elbow all weekend, I feel your pain. That does not sound like it was a fun experience. I hope you're doing better now.

Nothing wakes you up in the morning like salt in the eye, eh?

I hope it feels better!

bfk - it only hurts if you use it wrong (and so far, no lasting damage - just a little pain for an hour or so)

mandie - what happened to your elbow? i hope it's feeling better, too :)

feathersky - thanks :)

My elbow is doing much better now. I got a floor burn while playing wallyball at work one day. I was thoroughly annoyed when I realized it was infected. But all's well now.

I use ClearCare as well. Luckily I haven't had the opportunity to put it directly in my eye yet. But it does clean my contacts *a lot* better than my previous solutions. My optometrist told me that my corneas are becoming more vascular. The veins can put fluids in my eye and make them go milky. So I had to change to contacts that are the most breathable they have. I hope it works. Otherwise I'll have to stop using contacts. *gasp!*
