Seasonal Affective Disorder

Anyone else feeling a little S.A.D.?

*whimper*... will it ever stop snowing?...

Seriously.

I was so sick of the snow yesterday that I went to Target and tried on swimming suits. And I really didn't enjoy it because, really, who likes looking at themselves in a swim suit, but I just needed a little hope for summer...

But after two winters in Romania maybe I shouldn't be complaining :).

What would you like me to send you? I'm in the Land of the Two-Week Winter. I have seeds, I have little peat discs you can plant stuff in, I have aloe vera plants nearly coming out my ears. Say the word!

You know, in my part of Texas it's been a warm winter. We washed the cars today and the kids got wet without complaint of cold.

But we have our own version of S.A.D in the summer. When it's so hot, day after day, and the low temperatures are only in the upper 70s, leaves you feeling oppressed. And perhaps depressed too.

But then, in the fall, when that first cool weather hits, it lifts everyone's mood sky high. Pull out the sweat shirts and sweaters again! Goodbye airconditioning, hello open windows!

I hear that in colder climates, the same thing happens in spring when it first starts warming after a long winter. But the first warm day for me is like distant rumblings of a storm - a promise (threat?) that summer is on the way.

ls - wow, i can't think of anything that would induce me to try on bathing suits at this point. but i'm starting my garden... so i can relate! on a(n even more) somber note, did you hear about costi?

guin, you are a peach! ironically, i bought peat disks the day you left that comment!

orangehouse - i complain about the cold, but in all honesty... i'd rather freeze to death than drown in my own sweat... tell you what - i'll pray for a cold front in texas if you'll pray for a warm front in utah. deal? :)
