Rupert, ID

I had the coolest adventure for the 4th of July!! My roommate’s grandparents own an unfinished house out in the middle of a wheat field in Rupert, Idaho. We met up with some extended family there, and hilarity ensued. Brock (your friend and mine) lives really close to the lot, so we met *yay*, and he went tree climbing with us at a place called Big Tree (because… well… it’s a really big tree).

Later that night, we lit about 200 sparklers and a few firecrackers and ate some good food. My personal philosophy on food is that you can tell it’s really good if it gets all over you (and *man!* the ice cream sandwiches were really good…).

Close to where we stayed was a river, complete with about 5.3 billion mosquitos...

Snippets of conversations from the trip:

7-yr-old cousin: Why do they call you Bob?

Brock: Are you always this mellow?
Bob: Yeah…. Are you always this
not mellow?
Brock: Yeah.

(awww... isn'ee cute?)

(seriously, I really am mellow – don’t be fooled by the photo below)

Grandpa: Choose well your ruts – you’ll be stuck in ‘em a long time…

11-yr-old cousin: You’re a bad example! (see ice cream sandwich pic below)

(awww, isn'I cute?)
